Our Clinic: Here at the Veterinary Center of Sarasota, we believe you should be able to rely on superior care and excellent service. As such, we’re different from most other animal hospitals. We start with taking time to make our patients feel as comfortable as possible. For all patients, this includes possible application of a calming pheromone mist and, for our canine clients, a professional structured walk for them to build up trust in us.
We have a clean, modern, professional facility to provide the proper environment, care and comfort.
Appointments: Call 941 952-1900 to schedule an initial appointment or yearly exam and we will find a time that is convenient for you. We also do ‘drop off’ appointments. These are appointments where either we would like to monitor your pet during the day, perform an annual exam or scheduled services like blood work and surgeries.
Personality Walk: Dr. Reinhardt’s 40+ years experience has shown him that dogs act very differently with just us than with when their owners are present. This insight is behind the professional walk we take with your dog. During this walk, we build trust with your dog, calm him or her, and do initial physical exams. It is an essential part of our initial and yearly exams. Nearly all dogs respond well to this walk which makes the remainder of their exams go more smoothly and with less stress.
Medical History: It’s always a good idea to have your pet’s prior medical history available. It’s also a good idea to keep a journal for your pet throughout their life including any training they’ve had and behavioral shifts. If you have anything like this, please share it with our team! If not, let us know everything you think might be important. Dr. Reinhardt can still work with whatever information you have. You can also have your home/prior vet fax their current records to 941 951-1911 or email them to vetcenterofsarasota@gmail.com
One Pet at a Time Policy: We prefer to not see multiple pets in the same visit. Dr Reinhardt's personal policy is One Visit One Pet. We can see up to two pets at a time but this generally works best for regular annual exams. This policy helps avoids opportunities for confusion and ensures an error free visit for everyone. Please understand our desire to focus on one one Mopsy, one Topsy and one Flopsy at a time.
